Two students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have been arrested following the killing of Ahize Okoli, a final year student in Civil Engineering Department of the institution.
Okoli was mobbed to death by some of his colleagues for allegedly stealing phone, with his murder exciting condemnation.
His death followed several beatings at Awolowo Hostel and a continuation of the exercise at the Students Union Building
The killing has led to the arrest of two executives of the aforementioned hostel, according to police source who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity.
“We already have two students’ leaders in custody at the Police Command in Osogbo, in respect of the murder and effort is on to get other parties involved in the crime as investigation is ongoing,” source narrated.
