Two policemen have encountered their death in attack by gunmen on the convoy of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chris Uba.
The latter’s convoy was ambushed on Thursday night in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to report in general circulation, the gunmen had stationed themselves at Uga Junction when the convoy ran into them.
In the ensuing gunfire two officers in Uba’s convoy were shot dead with their principal escaping unhurt as he rode in a bulletproof vehicle.
Many other vehicles in the said convoy, it was further gathered, were riddled with bullets.
The Labour Party (LP) governorship hopeful and former PDP governorship candidate in the state, Valentine Ozigbo also escaped by whiskers.
