The remains of Joy Odama, the 200 level student of Mass Communication Department in Cross River State University of Science and Technology, who one Alhaji Usman Adamu allegedly killed, will be buried on Wednesday.
The deceased, who hailed from Cross Rivers State died in mysterious circumstances in Alhaji Adamu’s residence in Abuja, on December 20, 2016.
Her death has been trailed by controversy.
Initially the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Philomena Odama, accused Alhaji Adamu of using her daughter for ritual, adding that CSP Nkem Raphael formerly Divisional Police Officer of Karmo Police Station , took his side and wanted to sweep the matter under the rug.
At one point, the National Hospital Abuja claimed it conducted an autopsy on Odama’s body and report revealed she died of acute cocaine poison.
At another time, the Police Force Headquarters released another autopsy report, which says the deceased died of generator fumes in Alhaji Adamu’s house.
Alphonsus Eba, an aide of Gov. Benedict Ayade, who made known Late Odama’s burial arrangement, saying her remains will be buried at Yala Local Government Area, added that the state was hell bent on pursuing the case to logical conclusion.

According to Eba, “As a responsible government, we are not leaving any stone unturned in the gruesome murder of our daughter, Joy Odama, who was a 200 Level student in Mass Communication Department of Cross River State University, CRUTEC, by one Alhaji in Abuja.
“The Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ben Ayade, has paid N2.2 million for a fresh toxicology test and on that we have given the National Hospital the go ahead to conduct it.
“This will be the only new evidence that will help in the prosecution of the matter, which the Cross River State Government, through the Attorney General of the State, has set in motion to pursue the case even to the Supreme Court for justice to prevail and the mastermind and his accomplices are brought to book, even though they enjoy protection from a foremost security agency.”
