A 300-Level Medical Laboratory student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), simply identified as Christabel has committed suicide.

Christabel was found dead with a sniper and sprite drink and a suicide note beside her body at her hostel room at Newton Street, Ekosodin area of Benin City.

The note, which she addressed to two persons was said to be in police custody with the addressees invited for questioning by the state police command.

“The letter didn’t state what happened between the two mentioned persons, reason the police have invited them to unravel the reasons behind the deceased’s action,” a social media post by Uniben Metro read.

However, rumour was rife that late Christabel killed herself because the guy she was enamoured of didn’t return her love and called time on their relationship, culminating in depression.
