Widow of Prof. Aliyu Mani, Dr. Umma Mani, has revealed her last words to her late husband, who was killed in a bomb blast at a mosque in University of Maiduguri in the early hours of Monday.

“My late husband, Professor Aliyu Mani, woke up early in the morning on that fateful day as his fate demanded, and it was about 5:15am when I bade him goodbye. He took his car key and drove to the JS Mosque to join congregational prayers, which is a 5-minute walk, the bereaved wife said in an interview she granted Daily Trust.
“Usually, whenever he’s going out, I always say “May God bring you back safely”. And I did say so, before saying goodbye, and he responded by saying “Ameen”. And that’s how he left and never came back alive.”
