The Central Bank of Nigeria has sacked the entire Board of Directors of Polaris, Titan, Union and Keystone Banks.
This is as per Punchng citing CBN source.
It said the decision was taken at a meeting the apex bank’s governor, Yemi Cardoso presided over on Wednesday in Abuja.
“In the next hour, there is going to be official communication from the bank. We are working on it and an official statement will be sent soon,” the publication quoted the unamed source as saying.
Recall that the Special Investigation Panel probing the activities of the former CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele while in the saddle had recommended that the Federal Government reverse the sale of the banks and take them over on grounds that Emefiele allegedly acquires those banks for himself through proxies.
