A lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, who doubled as a faculty examination officer, Dr Kamar Abdulkadir, has met his death in his office.
Dr Abdulkadir lectured at the Department of Physical Health Education.
The don was on Sunday evening in his office to attend to some pressing work when his killers ambushed him, according to Daily Trust.
The latter also said that it gathered that the murdered lecturer was found in the pool of his blood with wounds that tell that he was stabbed with knife and hit with hammer by his killers who also went away with his car and some valuables.
It was also said that rumour is rife that the the lecturer’s murder may not be unconnected to the position the deceased occupied in the university.
“He was brutally murdered with knife and hammer, leaving him in the pool of his blood. They also escaped with his car and some other valuables.
“However, many people are attributing the murder to the position held as the faculty examination officer,” it quoted the University spokesman, Prof Danjuma Gambo as saying.
