Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Charles Esimone, is facing allegation of shielding lecturers found guilty of sexually harassing female students from ill consequences of their actions.
The accusation was openly thrown at Prof Esimone on Thursday by some female of institution.
The protesting students said female students have long been sports of some randy lecturers, and inspite of many panels set up over the issue, and persons found guilty as charged, nobody has been brought to book.
“The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, set up the Prof. Obi Oguejiofor panel to look into cases of sexual harassment when he assumed office, but before then, other panels had been set up that tried and equally indicted the culprits, yet, nothing was done.
“Why are they not being punished or sacked? Why is the VC sitting on and hiding the Oguejiofor panel report? Even the married women among us are not free from harassment,” one protester simply identified as Ugonna told Punchng.
