Eight persons have been arrested on suspicion of having hands in the murder of a University of Maiduguri lecturer and examination officer, Dr Kamar Abdulkadir.
The latter, a lecturer and an exam officer at the faculty of Physical Education, was found dead in a pool of his own blood inside his office on Sunday.
The don had gone to the office on the fateful day to attend to some pressing works when his killers ambushed him with knife and hammer, and made away with his car and some valuables of his.
The long arm of the law may have caught up with the perpetrators as the the Borno State Police Command claimed that eight suspects have been arrested.
“Investigation was launched into the matter and we have been able to apprehend eight persons in connection with the murder. They are currently undergoing investigation,” the command’s Public Relations Officer, Nahum Keneth told Punchng.
