Veteran comedian, Moses Olaiya, popularly called Baba Sala, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to give him financial support in order to prolong his life.

Baba Sala is hit by stroke, and on many occasions has been rumoured dead.

At a media briefing during the week, a build-up to his biography entitled the “Triumph of Destiny” slated for presentation on December 4, in Lagos, the comedian, who attended the event looking frail and speaking with difficulty, said his health situation was made worse by his poor financial situation calling on well-meaning Nigerians to rally round him.

He said, “I need help. Nigerians should help me. I am not dead yet, they should not let me die suffering.”

81-year-old Baba Sala is one of the fathers of modern Nigerian comedy. A prolific filmmaker among his popular works are; Orun Mooru , Mosebolatan, Agba Man, Return Match and Ana Gomina.
