The Civil Societies have embarked on a protest at banks against the unavailability of the new naira notes.

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, claimed that everyday bank branches across the country are given N3m new notes each.

The sharing has in no way rubbed off on bank customers who go through hell at banks in their bid to get the notes.

In a viral video, a civil society group is seen protesting in front of a Wema Bank at Lagos Island, with participants bearing placards.

Inscribed are alleged sabotage against commercial banks and call on EFCC to step into the matter.

And the latest measure to stem the tide of scarcity of the new notes by the CBN, is the directive to commercial banks to pay a maximum of N20,000 to each customer over the counter.
