A female customer has been filmed protesting at a branch of Access Bank over her inability to withdraw a certain amount.
In the clip, the woman spoke in Yoruba. She is seen without her top, only with short jeans and a bra, demanding her deposit in full, saying, “Am not banking again with you. Give me my money. My children didn’t go to school yesterday and today.”
Due to the cashless policy drive of the Central Bank: the redesign of 200, 500, and 1000 naira notes, gradual phasing out of the old ones, and caps on amount bank customers are entitled to withdraw both at ATM machines and on the counter, the critical masses have been in distress.
Poor network has also made online transaction difficult.
