A disturbing medical claim has surfaced online after social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, said a young man approached him alleging that a doctor removed one of his kidneys without his knowledge or consent.
According to VDM, the man reportedly came to his office two days earlier to narrate the shocking experience and seek his intervention.
The activist subsequently took the matter further by arranging medical scans for the young man.
He said scans conducted on August 18 and 19 appeared to show that the young man was indeed missing a kidney, throwing up fresh questions over what allegedly happened at the hospital.
The development has sparked concern online, with social media users demanding answers and calling for a proper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged removal.
However, the allegation has not yet established who removed the kidney, where the alleged procedure took place or whether the organ was removed during a medically authorised operation.
VDM’s account is based on the young man’s complaint and the medical information he has publicly shared.
The identity of the hospital and doctor involved, as well as their response to the allegation, would need to be independently established before any conclusion can be drawn.
The case comes amid renewed public sensitivity to allegations involving organ harvesting and trafficking in Nigeria and elsewhere. Recent reporting has also highlighted the continuing danger posed by organ trafficking, although that does not establish any connection between those cases and the present allegation.
Further details are expected as the activist continues to investigate the young man’s claim.
