The Kano State government has defended its ongoing demolition of some projects the administration of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje undertook.
The incumbent administration of Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf has gone into demolition exercise of some projects the immediate past administration put in place.
In defence of the state of affairs, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Baffa Bichi, said the symbolic Tumbin Giwa roundabout at Kano Government House was demolished because it carried a Christian cross.
The latter, Bichi said went against the grain of faith predominant in the state.
“If you take a drone to take the picture from the top, you will see a cross. In Kano, you cannot do that. Not only that it is in Kano, but in the Government House roundabout. This is against our norms and values and also against the teachings of Islam,” he said.
