The Defence Headquarters has announced the released of 313 persons suspected to be members of marauding Boko Haram.
The announcement on Thursday is courtesy of the Defence Media Operations Director, Edward Buba.
The latter attributed the release of the suspects to court’s judgments saying, “The court ordered their release for want of evidence after the conclusion of investigation and other ancillary matters.
“The cases were prosecuted by the Department of Prosecution , Federal Ministry of Justice. Accordingly, they would be handed over to the Borno State Government for further action.”
Buba, a major-general, also said of the authorities’ resolve to up their game with regard prosecution going further in order to obtain convictions.
According to him, “These operations are complex. Going forward, we would improve our battlefield evidence in order to gather concrete evidence.”
