The President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has revealed that aviation fuel consumption is low in Africa.
Dangote made this known while taking around Dangote refinery, Zambia officials including the East African country’s Minister for Energy, Makozo Chikote, on Saturday.
The officials’ visit is in furtherance of a plan for the richest man in Africa to help solve Zambia’s energy issue.
The billionaire businessman said the use of aviation fuel in the black continent is low attributing the situation to little patronage of aircraft.
“We have competitive advantages over PMS, diesel, aviation fuel, and others.
“The consumption of aviation fuel in Africa is very low because we don’t have too many aircraft flying around. PMS is what people use a lot. Here in Nigeria, most discussions are on PMS. You know we just deregulated, and everybody is trying to find his feet. Now that the subsidy is gone, things are ramping up,” he said.
