A 39-year-old man, Farida Banti, held for killing his wife, Hajo, in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State has explained away his vile act.
Banti was arrested on Sunday by the police for macheting his wife to death in a fit of anger.
“I inflicted deep cuts on my wife, which resulted in her death, because she refused to obey me. In fact, it was extreme provocation that made me kill my wife,” the suspect told Punch.
He told the paper when asked if he regretted his action: “Women must learn to obey their husbands so that what happened to my wife will not happen to them.”
