The Speakership of the House of Representatives aspiration of All Progressive Congress chieftain, Femi Gbajabiamila, has received a boost from unexpected quarter – Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.

Wike disclosed his support for Gbajabiamila on Wednesday when he received in audience the aspirant and his campaign team consisting of some federal lawmakers elect and those who are returning to the House, 109 in number.
The governor warned Gbajabiamila against being partisan if elected, advising that his watchword must be the overriding interest of the critical masses.
He said, “When you get there, we must work as a people; party is just a vehicle to convey you to your political destination.
“Party line is the major reason why Nigeria has not made any progress. It was the reason why our Electoral Act was not assented to.”
