Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said that it is incapable of sacking Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro.

There has a growing call for Peseiro’s head following the Super Eagles’ poor showing under him particularly the latest draw with minnows, Lesotho in Uyo and Zimbabwe.

NFF board member, Nse Essien, said association’s shared the discontent but the cost of dismissing the Portuguese is not within its reach.

Essien also said Peseiro was employed by the Sports Ministry while his salary has been irregular.

He stated all this at a post-game interview where he said financial constraint made it difficult to sack the 63 year-old, saying, “Up till now, we were supposed to have paid their salaries, up till now they have not paid a dime.

“Who pays for compensation that is the situation we find ourselves in not a dime has been paid to this coach who earns about $70,000 every month.

“We have to respect Jose Peseiro’s contract. If we had the money to give to him (pay him off) we are going to relieve him. We are not happy.”
