Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has alleged that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is in the habit of having meetings in Dubai with governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Wike, who is not on good terms with Atiku alongside four other governors of the PDP asserted this in defence of the aggrieved governors’ meeting with the Presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently in the UK to discuss their possibility of working for the ex-Lagos governor in his quest to succeed the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari.
“They said we had meeting with so and so. What is your problem? Assuming there was a meeting, has Atiku not been holding meetings with governors of APC?
“Ask him. As he is in Dubai, don’t we know what is going on? So, why do you bother about us? G5 that you said you can win without us; leave us alone,” the governor, who has high animal spirits said at the flag-off of a road project in Rivers on Friday.
