One Blessing Ayebe has been found dead inside a church toilet in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
Ayebe had earlier been declared missing by her family.
It happened that the deceased attended the church service on Saturday, June 28, but did not return home after the programme ended prompting her family to raise the alarm.
Subsequently her body was discovered around 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, inside the toilet facility of the church in the Ikot Ansa area of Calabar Municipality.
However, the police are not ruling out foul play and have launched investigation into circumstances surrounding her demise.
This was disclosed by Cross River State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah.
“The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy to determine the cause of death. No suspect has been identified or arrested at this stage, as there is presently no evidence of foul play.
“Investigation is ongoing, and further developments will be communicated as they unfold,” ASP Eitokpah told newsmen.
