The incident happened about three weeks ago in the evening at Plot 50, Pipeline, Kubwa village, precisely on January 11, 2018.

Mrs. Abdulkareem, a mother of three, had believed her husband, Mr. Usman Abdulkareem was having a seedy affair with Safiya, a nurse, and on the fateful day trailed him to her house where she met his car parked outside the place, and enquired to see him when a frenzied trouble erupted during which the suspect stabbed her alleged rival’s son, Awwal, a 200-level student of University of Abuja to death in the heat of passion.

“We got married in 2008, and our marriage is blessed with three children. Safiya has been dating my husband, and I have been suspecting them. At night, she would call my husband and on January 11, after he left office he lied to me that he was going to Kaduna. And around 8:00pm. I called him his phone to inform him that our little baby was sick but he didn’t pick it or return my call.

“So i trailed him to his lover’s house and on getting there, I saw his car parked in front of the house, and demanded to see him but his mistress’ children refused me, became unruly and threatened to kill me if I would not leave. I started crying and begging my husband to come out.  At a point I started exchanging words with the woman’s children.

Continued: “Later they started beating me. So, I went to my husband’s company car and took a knife and stabbed the boy.”

However, the suspect’s husband denied his wife’s claim that he was dating Safiya saying the woman was his family’s nurse and he had gone to her house for treatment when the incident occurred.
