The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a tiler, Samuel Net, over the suspected killing of a hotel worker, Joseph Terdoo, following a violent clash at a hotel in Abuja.

The incident occurred at a hotel in the Utako District, where the two men reportedly engaged in a disagreement that escalated into a physical confrontation, leaving Terdoo dead.

The police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that officers were alerted to suspicious noise and activities on the hotel’s third floor in the early hours of Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Responding to the distress call, operatives from the Utako Divisional Police Headquarters reportedly traced the disturbance to Room 301.

The officers found Net, a tiler hired by the hotel, with visible marks of violence on his body. Terdoo, a member of the hotel’s staff, was also found unconscious on the floor with multiple injuries.

He was immediately rushed to Wuse District Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the disagreement between the two men had turned physical, with Net allegedly pushing Terdoo, who fell and struck his head against a wooden object before collapsing.

The police said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, urged residents to avoid violence and taking the law into their own hands when resolving disputes.

He advised residents to embrace peaceful dialogue and report suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station.

The command also provided emergency contact numbers, 08032003913 and 08061581938, for members of the public to report incidents requiring police attention.
