A 2-year old has killed his loving father in an apparent accidental shooting in their home in Alabama in United States.
The suspect’ father, Divine Vaniah Chambliss(pictured with one of his children) was found dead with gunshot wound to the head on Tuesday afternoon, and no one else was inside other than the toddler.
Investigation by police found no sign of an intruder or a self-inflicted wound, and discovered that there was a semiautomatic pistol in the apartment.
According to investigator, Gregg Rector, he said that, “It wouldn’t be a physical obstacle for a 2½-year-old boy to pull a trigger on a semiautomatic handgun.”
The family of the deceased believe that he was taking a nap with the suspect when the boy found the semi-automatic handgun and pulled the trigger.
The 31-year-old(pictured right with his wife) was found dead in the bed from a single gunshot wound to the head just around 3.00pm in a Hoover apartment where he had been watching his son while the boy’s mother was at work.
The parents of the deceased said their grandson had accepted killing his father.
According to them, “We’ve talked with the detective, we’ve talked with the coroner and everything is pointing to the baby,” said the victim’s father, Larry Chambliss. “I just can’t comprehend it.”
Larry Chambliss and his wife, Marilyn, said they are praying their grandson won’t remember what happened, but said he already knows something is amiss. “I hurt my Dad,” the boy told his mother.
