A former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has made a bad prognosis of President Bola Tinubu’s supposed reelection bid.

Dalung is a part of the political coalition group, comprising of opposition leaders such as former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of Labour Party who are coalescing into the African Democratic Congress in order to see to it that in 2027 President Tinubu will not be reelected.

Speaking on News Central on Friday, the former minister said not even power of incumbency and employment of crude tactics by the presidency would make Tinubu to escape defeat.

“Even if the 36 state governors defect to the APC and he appoints Seyi Tinubu as the chairman of INEC, and maybe he appoints his wife as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, and even if INEC becomes the last institution to decamp to the APC, they are going to be defeated in 2027,” Dalung said.

Before he added: “Nigerians should buckle up for 2027 because the battle line has been drawn by the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The government has weaponised poverty, hunger, and hardship and has popularised corruption, impunity, and injustice.”

He continued: “The only option we have now is to align with the coalition movement to reposition ourselves and confront the government in 2027.”
