The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused wife of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Mrs Judith Amaechi of corrupt practices bordering on alleged receipt of N48 billion for a year from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Amaechi, the ex-minister, with whom Wike is in long political dispute has always pride himself on allegedly having a dislike for money and not corrupt.
The former Rivers State governor, a vocal voice against President Bola Tinubu, to Wike, is also corrupt like the average politician.
On Friday the FCT minister imputed to the Amaechis on Channels Television in an interview he granted Politics Today where Mrs Amaechi got N48bn from NDDC in a fraudulent manner that has to do with mobilisation of Niger Delta women for 12 months.
He went on to urge President Tinubu to release the forensic audit of NDDC and expose the heist.
“I call on President Tinubu to release the forensic audit of NDDC. If they release it and it’s not in the audit, I will resign as FCT minister,” the immediate-past Rivers State governor declared.
He disclaimed report linking him to corrupt practices with reference to his ownership of Rolls-Royce as instance, saying he was from a rich background and drove a Mercedes-Benz during his time in school.
“I have a Rolls-Royce; nobody gave it to me; I bought it for myself. I didn’t come from the same background as Rotimi Amaechi. As a student, I was using a Mercedes-Benz. My father was the manager of so many companies. I come from a rich background but not too rich like the Dangotes,” the minister said.
