A prominent chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Buba Galadima, has said that the chances of an alliance between President Bola Tinubu and former Kano State governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for 2027 election is slim.
There have been whispers over the possibility of both forming alliance against 2027 which was once fuelled by Kwankwaso’s visit to the Villa at a time and resignation of former Kano governor, and Kwankwaso’s sworn enemy, Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of All Progressives Congress.
However doubt was cast on it after the NNPP leader tore into Tinubu’s administration at an event in Kano.
Galadima said he didn’t see them working together in 2027 in an interview he granted Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, where he accused Tinubu of souring his relationship with Kwankwaso by supporting desposed emir, Aminu Ado Bayero.
“It will be extremely difficult for Kwankwaso to join forces with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
“Tinubu’s administration is antagonising Kwankwaso by backing Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, despite the fact that the Kano State Government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had removed him.
“I don’t see it happening after all they have done to us in Kano.
“Two emirs were appointed in one city? There is now a federal emir and a state emir. Who has the authority to appoint an emir and pay his salary?” the veteran politician said.
