Natasha Osawaru, wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has declared that she intends to become President of Nigeria someday.
Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, made the declaration during the 92nd birthday celebration of her grandfather, Gabriel Igbinedion, in Benin City, Edo State.
The lawmaker, who represents Egor Constituency, reportedly told the gathering that she was determined to pursue the nation’s highest political office while her grandfather was still alive.
Her declaration has since sparked reactions on social media, with a video of the birthday celebration showing the lawmaker speaking about her political ambition now circulating widely.
Osawaru’s political profile has continued to rise in Edo politics. She was recently appointed Minority Leader of the state House of Assembly.
The lawmaker had described the new position as a responsibility entrusted to her rather than merely a political title.
Her presidential ambition comes amid growing public attention surrounding her political career and marriage to 2Baba.
Osawaru and the singer got married in July 2025, months after his highly publicised separation from actress Annie Macaulay Idibia.
The couple later held a dedication ceremony for their first child together in February.
Their marriage attracted widespread attention, particularly because of the circumstances surrounding 2Baba’s split from Annie.
The singer, however, has repeatedly dismissed claims that Osawaru was responsible for the collapse of his previous marriage, insisting that she was not the cause of the separation.
