A 300-level Biochemistry student of Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Zaharadeen Nuhu, has been been.
Nuhu’s death occurred at the hands of armed theives who invaded Apple Villa, his off-campus residence and in the course of robbing him, attacked him with machete.
His killing has drawn reaction from the school authorities via a circular the university’s Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Ibrahim Magawata issued on Thursday.
The circular which confirmed the incident read partly: “It is with a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah that the university management announces the death of our dear student, Zaharadeen Nuhu, a 300-level student of the Department of Biochemistry.
“He was attacked in one of the private hostels in Kalgo by a group of thieves and sustained severe machete injuries. He was taken to hospital but sadly passed away early this morning.”
Continued: “The deceased was buried on Thursday following a funeral prayer held at the mosque of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Birnin Kebbi.
“The university management commiserates with the family, friends, coursemates and the entire student community over the loss, and prays for the repose of the deceased’s soul.”
