Five persons were said to have died on Thursday morning at Abbatoir area of Agege, Lagos State when a train derailed after it was hit by a truck.

The incident, which happened around 8.am was reportedly caused by a trailer.
It was said that the truck had just dropped some cows and was trying to make a detour when it rammed into the moving train.
The train, according to eyewitnesses, almost lost balance and in the ensued melee about five of illegal passengers, hanging on its roof were crushed to death while several others were seriously injured
It was also gathered that the driver of the truck simply identified as Hanzat and his conductor suffered various injuries.
The incident has been confirmed by Lagos State police spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole.
