A medical doctor aged 74, who was sick for 30 years has committed suicide in Aba, Abia State.
The deceased identified as I.J. Mbaekpe, until his death lived with his wife simply identified as Mary at the Abayi area.

He reportedly shot himself while his wife was out of the house.
Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Godfrey Ogbonna, confirmed the incident, adding that the medical doctor died while he was being rushed to the hospital after his neighbours rushed to his house when they heard gunshot.
