The killing of a 17-year-old schoolboy, Abdallah, for allegedly stealing a phone in Adamawa State has drawn the reaction of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Abdallah, a senior secondary student died on Wednesday at the Intensive Care Unit of the Moddibo Adama Teaching Hospital in Yola from injuries he sustained from torture after a neighbour lodged a complaint over a missing phone.

Accusing fingers are being pointed at military-led joint security task force, Operation Farauta.

The governor has ordered probe into the teenager’s murder as per a statement his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou released which also conveyed Fintiri’s condolences to the deceased’s family.

It reads in part, “Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has ordered the police commissioner to investigate the alleged murder of Abdallah said to have been tortured by operatives of the security apparatus code named “Operation Farauta.”
