Following the ruling of an Ikeja Magistrate Court on the allegation made by city businessman, Victor Adelakun popularly known as Ade Lexus that his friend, Adebayo Orekoya known as Bobby Ibadan(both pictured) attempted to abduct him, it has emerged that the accusation was a character assassination attempt.
In her ruling, the chief magistrate judge, Mrs. Komolafe had struck out the case on 18th February 2015 and discharged the defendant for lack of evidence. The case had come up for hearing five times but on all occasions, the plaintiff, his lawyer and the IPO were all absent.
Sources said close associates of the warring duo were completely taken aback by Ade’s allegation, and provided insight into what really transpired between them.
According to them, sometime back, Ade had gone to Ghana to seek admission into University of Ghana and throughout his stay, Bobby and his wife who both live there had played good host to him.
Trouble started when Ade secretly got the wife’s number and was sending love messages to her even after the woman expressed disapproval. She later told her hubby when Ade wouldn’t budge.
It was further gathered that on May 10, 2014, Bobby had planned to confront Ade in the presence of their friends at a club in Lagos and had sent an advance party to look out for him at the venue.
Sources said Ade could sense that the issue would be discussed in public and he would be brought to shame, so he raised alarm, alleging a phantom kidnap.
