Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the first lady, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari,  Monday met with  the All Progressives Congress women leaders from the 36 states of the federation.

In attendance at the meeting were; the wife of the vice president,  Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo;  the APC deputy national women leader,  Chief Tina Adike; the wife of the governor of Sokoto State, Mrs. Maryam Mairo Tambuwal,  among others.

According to a statement released by the director of information in the office of the wife of the president, Sulaiman Haruna, Mrs. Buhari lamented the low involvement of women in decision making  urging the attendees to rally supports for the female folk so as to realise the 35 percent affirmative action.
