The Benue State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Ardo Risku, has been killed alongside his son, Ibrahim.
Alhaji Ardo Risku and Ibrahim were ambushed by gunmen while returning home after attending a peace meeting in Otukpo, Benue State.
Report said their killings occurred on Friday.
They were attacked near Ahimeni in the Okodu area while travelling back from the peace meeting.
The Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, who confirmed the incident, said there was palpable tension in the community where the incident occurred and other neighbouring communities in the local government area.
He said, “It is true that the state chairman of MACBAN was killed within Otukpo LGA this afternoon. The killing has raised tension in the community and environs.”
