Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun was not accorded the attention his office deserved at the funeral service held for former governor of Lagos State, Sir Michael Otedola on Friday.
The event, which was held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ibowon, Epe had in attendance several dignitaries, including President Goodluck Jonathan, his wife, Patience, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governors Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State; former governor Peter Obi of Anambra State; Minister of Agriculture, Dr Akinwunmi Adeshina, Minister of State for Defence, Mr Musiliu Obanikoro, former Ekiti State Governor, Chief Niyi Adebayo, Director – General of Nigeria Security and Exchange Commission, Ms Aruma Oteh, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote and former Managing Director of Zenith Bank, Jim Ovia among others.
The only sitting governors at the event were Governor Fashola and Senator Amosun. But either by omission or commission and contrary to any known protocol, the latter’s was not recognised by comperes as his name was not mentioned throughout the event.
