Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, said his successor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has regret for shutting down his multi –million naira five stars Conference Hotel, in Abeokuta, the State capital, for eight years.

Under Amosun administration, Ogun government sealed up Conference Hotel, an action Daniel contested in court. Reprieve, however, came the latter’s way when the incumbent Dapo Abiodun assumed office and returned the hotel to him.

On Friday, the former governor spoke on the incident in an interview with newsmen and in a thinly veiled reference to Amosun said while he has forgiven the senator representing Ogun Central, the latter and others that had hands in the closure are allegedly regretting their action.

He said: “To forgive is divine. You know me, I don’t waste time to forgive and I guess everybody (connected with my hotel closure) has regretted it. The most important thing is that I’m alive. I took everything as the way God has planned it.”
