The Permanent Secretary of Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Chinwe Achugbu, is facing allegation of beating one of the Heads of Department in the ministry, a fellow-woman to the point of coma.
Her victim’s identity is not in any of the reports in general circulation.
However, a picture of her lying in hospital bed in coma has gone viral.
Several accounts said Achugbu and the HoD engaged in a physical fight last Thursday which cause was unknown as at the time of writing this report.
During it, the permanent secretary reportedly strangled her opponent’s neck, which made her to suffer coma, and was rushed to the hospital.
“The HoD landed in the Emergency Ward of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku-Awka, where was resuscitated,” the report said.
The Anambra State Government, it was further gathered, has launched investigation into the matter.
This is according to the State Head of Service, Theodora Igwegbe.
