President Muhammadu Buhari has rallied supports for the widely reported ambition of Comrade Adam Oshiomhole, to succeed Chief John Oyegun as the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress.
Multiple media reports citing anonymous source in the presidency, said Buhari met governors elected on the platform of the ruling asking them to throw their weights behind Oshiomhole
The party’s national convention where new members of the party’s National Working Committee will emerge has been slated for May 14 in Abuja.
There is still a fog around whether Oyegun will seek re-election at the convention.
“The President called this meeting with the progressive governors to ask them to back Oshiomhole’s candidature. That’s the purpose of the meeting administration that is the President’s position,” a source was quoted as saying in regard of Buhari’s meeting with the governors yesterday.
