The report that Nollywood actress and People Democratic Party, PDP deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State Funke Akindele was attacked at Ikosi Fruit Market has drawn the response of the state chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The PDP had claimed that Akindele while at Ikosi Fruit market to woo voters on Tuesday was chased out of the market by louts on Ikosi LCDA Chairperson, Abolanle Bada’s instruction.
“Usually when we go to the market, Funke Akindele goes to the market to speak with the Market women, and we know it is our right to be able to talk freely, and campaign to anybody, but Funke was chased out by thugs, Bada conveyed to the scene with her car, ” PDP spokesman, Hakeem Amode alleged.
Denying the claim, APC spokesman in the state, Seye Oladejo, said the main opposition is infamous for spreading falsehood.
According to him, “The PDP people are well known for their wild allegations; if people were attacked, I think it is what the security agencies would be interested in; I don’t think the solution is to take it to the media.”
