Sanusi who was dethroned by the Kano State government over insubordination and gross disrespect to duly constituted authority was banished to Nasarawa and was first housed in Loko before he was relocated to Awe.

The social media was on Thursday awash with rumour that the former CBN governor who is challenging his arrest, detention and freedom of movement and association denial has been settled in Lagos.

But one of Sanusi’s aides who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity dispelled the rumour.

Meanwhile, the deposed monarch’s hosts have expressed their desire to have him around for long.

The residents, according to News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, said Sanusi’s presence thrust the sleepy area into limelight and brought about security.

“The people of Awe are peace-loving people and we like receiving visitors from every part of Nigeria. We are hospitable people.  “We will do everything possible within our power to make the deposed emir’s stay memorable. We hope that one day he would decide to stay with us on his own forever,” it quoted a resident as saying.
