Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, said the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyiorcha Ayu misled the party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar into “gutters.”
Fayose pronounced this on ARISE TV where he announced his decision to quit partisan politics and retire into statesmanship at aged, 62.
The ex-governor, relating a major event that happened behind the curtain in the PDP after its contentious primary, said Atiku’s undoing was his unyielding stance against G-5’s demand, saying the latter asked him to openly agreed to one term in office as condition to gain their supports.
He said the ex-VP is already 76 years and by 2027 when the next election will take place, he would be 80, but people like Ayu encouraged him to be adamant.
According to him, “This Ayu was the one who led Atiku to the gutters. They took him to the gutters. You see when a man cannot come out. At 80 what does he want to do after?”
