Late Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh had the plan to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, when his murder occurred along Abuja-Keffi Road on December 18, according to an associate of the deceased, name undisclosed.
In the PDP led-administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Late Badeh was the Chief of Defence Staff.
Punch wrote that a friend of the slain retired air force officer made a sensational claim saying Badeh was planning to join the campaign team of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Badeh delayed the announcement on account of his lawyer’s advice who advised him to suspend the move and prepare for the opening of the defence of his corruption case which was slated for January 16, 17 and 18, 2019, the paper paraphrased the unnamed source.
However, the report said the same source insinuated that Badeh’s killing might have been masterminded by persons, who allegedly wanted to hush up their involvement in the looted arms money, fearing he was going to name names.
