The Nigeria Police Force has advanced reason for its invasion of the Abuja residence of the lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye.
The police in a statement released by the spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, said Melaye committed homicide and has been perverting course of justice by being on the run, adding that the police would continue to lay siege to his house until he surrenders himself.
“The above offence was committed by Melaye and his armed thugs in Kogi State on July 19, 2018 when they shot and wounded Saliu. The police officer has yet to recover from the gunshot injury he sustained during the attack and still in intensive care,” Moshood wrote.
Earlier on Friday Melaye posted on his Twitter handle that over 20 policemen invaded his house and planted guns in his cars.
