Report has emerged that fifty elderly people from Magamin Diddi village in Magami/Faru ward of Maradun Local Government Area have been kidnapped while on reconciliation mission.
This is as per Daily Trust that reported that Jammo, the bandits’ kingpin in charge of Muntsira Forest in Maradun LGA of Zamfara, kidnapped them.
“We are against reconciliation with the bandits and Governor Dauda Lawal never supported that, but unknown to us the people chose to go on with it,” the chairman of Maradun Local Government, Hon. Bello Dosara, the publication cited him as saying in confirmation of the incident.
The council boss, was quoted further by the medium to blame the mediators for not procuring government’s clearance before embarking on the journey.
He reportedly said eleven of the victims have regained their freedom saying, “He, (Jammo) released some to just brief the people on the unfortunate incident.”
