The beauty pageant industry in Taraba State has been thrown into mourning following the death of former Miss Taraba, Comfort Williams allegedly after a brief illness.

Williams’ death was announced on Monday by Prime Planet Event Managers, organisers of the Mr and Miss Taraba pageant, where she had served as Assistant Managing Director.

In a condolence message shared on Facebook by the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Disebe Donga, the management described her death as a devastating loss, recalling her contributions to the organisation.

The statement said Williams was not just a member of the team but an important part of the Prime Planet family whose presence and contributions would remain unforgettable.

Williams made history in 2023 when she was crowned the 10th Miss Taraba, earning recognition in the state’s beauty pageant industry.

Her involvement with the organisation continued after her reign, culminating in her appointment as Assistant Managing Director in January 2026.

She was named alongside Tabitha Adda, who became Managing Director, and Leah Lot Mangbon, appointed Head of Contestants, as part of a seven-member leadership team known as Team 7.

In October 2024, Williams also joined other Taraba beauty queens on a visit to Senator Manu Haruna at the National Assembly in Abuja.

Paying tribute to the late beauty queen, Prime Planet said her memories would remain cherished by members of the organisation.

“You will forever remain a part of the Prime Planet family. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten,” the statement added.

However, the organisation did not disclose the circumstances surrounding her death, while details of her burial arrangements were not immediately available.
