An amateur boxer, identified as Kehinde, popularly known as KBlaq, has been stabbed to death during a street fight at Olodo Garage in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The killing, which reportedly occurred on Sunday, has sparked outrage on social media, with friends and acquaintances of the deceased demanding justice.
According to accounts circulating online, Kehinde was not initially involved in the fight, which had reportedly ended before the suspect allegedly appeared and attacked him with a broken bottle.
The assailant was said to have stabbed the boxer in the neck, leaving him with fatal injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the killing have generated anger, particularly over allegations that the suspect was not among those involved in the initial confrontation.
An X user, @MVKAY2, alleged that the suspect emerged after the fight had ended and attacked Kehinde, who had no direct involvement in the dispute.
Another user, @omononaolapo, also claimed that the alleged killer was not part of the original fight.
Expressing grief, @Tunde, who described the deceased as his brother, blamed the incident on the violence that often characterises disputes among commercial motorcyclists in the area.
He wrote that the incident was particularly painful, alleging that some people present watched as the confrontation unfolded.
Similarly, @Fela said the deceased was a friend of his younger brother, adding that he was shocked when he learnt that his friend had been killed.
Another user, @Pelumifundz, described Kehinde as a gentle young man who rarely got into trouble.
The user, who said the deceased was the younger brother of a friend and a twin, called for justice, while expressing sadness over his untimely death.
Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, said investigation into the killing was ongoing.
