Bishop Ginika Obi of the City of Liberation and Comfort Ministry, Enugu, was on Tuesday, remanded in prison custody for allegedly defrauding members of the public to the tune of over N500 million.

The Federal High Court, sitting in Enugu ordered Bishop Obi’s remand .
The self-acclaimed man-of-God is facing 82 count charges that bothered on conspiracy and advance fee fraud.

Persons claiming to be Obi’s victims had petitioned the police accusing the bishop of swindling them via a ponzi scheme.

He had abandoned his church located at KM 111 Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway and was on the run but was arrested recently by operatives of the Commissioner of Police Monitoring Unit, Enugu.

Following Obi’s arrest, his alleged victims had been trooping to the police station monitoring unit where the case was being handled.

The court adjourned till November 1 and 2, further hearing on the matter.
