Controversial cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, alias Bobrisky, has appealed the six-month sentence meted out to him for abusing naira notes.
A Federal High Court jailed Bobrisky for half a year without the option of fine.
Now, weeks into serving his term at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, the 33-year-old has appealed the judgment through his lawyer, Bimbo Kusanu.
In essence, he is asking the appeal court to convert the six-month imprisonment to N50,000 fine on each of the four counts he was convicted of.
Recall that Justice Abimbola Awogboro on April 12, 2024, sentenced Bobrisky, to six months imprisonment without an option fine for abusing the naira by spraying the currency at a party, leading to mutilation.
