A white garment pastor in Ogun State, Monday Ogunyomi, is in trouble for raping a client during a so-called cleansing prayer in the church premises.
Ogunyomi, a pastor of the God Foundation Spiritual Church of Christ, Ibùdó Aseyori of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, at Osioyemi Eleweran, in Abeokuta, under the guise of performing the spiritual cleansing had carnal knowledge of the 25-year-old in the wee hours of last Wednesday.
Leading up to the incident, the victim’s mother, Toyin Akanbi, had approached the pastor seeking spiritual help to cure her daughter of regular nightmares following which Ogunyomi charged her N80,000.
Report said the family paid N50,000 in deposit, and the day of the prayer session as devised by the pastor, he and Toyin were alone around 12.00am for the prayer session.
It added that along the line, Ogunyomi got Toyin to go nude like him, claiming it was under the condition the prayer would be held.
But it turned out that it was a means to rape the victim on the bench.
Police source added that the suspect is in the process of being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
